I'm Logg. I sometimes volunteer at the Computer Museum of America, but I am not compensated or otherwise officially affiliated with that organization.
This site was designed in late 2024. Considering the context of "Computer History", I took inspiration from the better parts of late 1990s to mid 2000s web design.
The Exhibit Map for example was inspired by the map tag (which was more common on the early web), though I actually went ahead and implemented the concept with a bunch of divs instead so that: the text rendering matches the rest of the page, it's responsive (i.e. scales to width), and I suppose it might be more accessible to blind people as well.
The influence of mediawiki styling & wiki culture in general might be apparant as well. I chose not to actually use mediawiki directly, since it is a pretty big chore to maintain that software for a site that is only meant to be edited by one person.
